Transformer di Roboter is a Berlin-based electronic music project originally consisting of Alexander Kloster and Johannes Malfatti. Since 2010 Alexander Kloster runs this experimental pop project with the help of various live drummers. Transformer di Roboter has released several EPs and has contributed to compilations on labels such as WMF Records, D-I-R-T-Y Sound System, Deco, Diamondtraxx, Rock Machine Records, Klangkrieg, Leonizer and L'Âge d'or. In their cover version of Michael Jackson's "Stranger in Moscow", they used Apple Computer's Macintosh startup sound to mimic the original's bass line. It was released on vinyl in 2003 and has been played by Busy P., Peaches and Justice. Transformer di Roboter is also involved in other projects such as Puppetmastaz, Fasterdisco (with Electrosexual) as well as more experimental music projects, such as the electro-acoustic noise project Chlorgeschlecht and Johannes Malfatti is a member of Ensemble (with Olivier Alary). Collaborarions have included Patric Catani aka Candie Hank, Quentin Gauthier, Gangpol und Mit, Lois Pluged and Frukie, Tubbe, Electrosexual, Xeum, Captain Kadillac and Leonard de Leonard. For their 2003 Chlorgeschlecht release "Unyoga", they received an Honorary Mention at the Ars Electronica in 2004. Chlorgeschlecht has also been used in feature films like Bruce la Bruces' "Otto; or Up with Dead People and appears in the Klaus Lemke film "Berlin für Helden". Transformer di Roboter has also been used in television, fashion. Transformer di Roboter produced the official soundtrack for the opening ceremony of the Markthall Rotterdams' 11.000 square meter art piece by Dutch artists Arno Coenen and Iris Roskam.
